The year was 2013. Slussenanalys – the most elusive and genre-bending creature among all Swedish-speaking rock acts in Finland – was at the top of its game. The quintet still continued to hobble along the only path it knew, throwing any and all rock-resembling nuggets of inspiration it found into a very loud blender, processing it all into pure, organic Slussenanalys.
Eventually a 7-inch single called Livets spindlar materialized, a frantic one-two punch of straightforward action rock barnstormers. Driven by typical reckless abandon and a desperate desire to rock, the band rushed onwards clutching their brand new single like a pot of live firecrackers. And like all fireworks everywhere, even Slussenanalys finally fizzled out (after going BANG a few times), threw some final sparks into the darkness, and faded back into the obscurity whence it came.
Once the dust had settled and the amplifiers had cooled down, something small was forgotten on the cutting room floor. It was Kasta tomater, a song judged too slow to make it by a band on an express train to nowhere.
It's here now.
